🔹 Who Pays Duties and Taxes?
United States Customers
For orders shipped to the United States, Kelmatt collects all applicable import duties and taxes at checkout.
These charges are then paid on your behalf directly to U.S. Customs, ensuring a smooth delivery with no additional fees due upon arrival.
You will not be contacted by customs or the carrier for any further duties or taxes.
Canadian Customers
For orders shipped to Canada, you — the recipient — are responsible for all import duties, taxes (including GST/HST), brokerage fees, and customs-related charges.
These fees are not collected at checkout.
Canadian customs or the carrier (courier/post) will contact you directly with the amount due before delivery.
If you refuse to pay:
- The parcel will be returned to Kelmatt.
- You will be charged shipping & handling fees.
- Only the remaining balance of the order may be refunded.
All Other International Customers
For all other destinations, you — the recipient — are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or local charges.
Kelmatt does not collect or include these fees at checkout.
🔹 Declared Value
Kelmatt must declare the true purchase value on customs documents, as required by law.
We cannot modify or undervalue invoices to reduce your import charges.
